1. Who operates Backr

2. Information we collect
When you register or use Backr, the service processes your email address, authentication and session information, founder display name and bio, profile pictures, startup posts and cover images, comments, likes, follows, collaboration requests, direct messages, private startup drafts and notes, reports, blocking preferences, and activity notifications. Technical providers may also process IP addresses, browser/device details, logs, and anti-abuse signals needed to run the service.
3. Public and private information
Public startup posts, profile names, bios, uploaded public photos, and comments may be visible to anyone and can be copied or screenshotted by others. Drafts and private founder notes are intended to be visible only to their account owner. Direct messages are intended to be accessible to conversation participants, subject to the platform's abuse-reporting and security processes. Do not submit trade secrets or sensitive personal information unless you understand the risks.
4. How information is used
We use information to create accounts, display startup content, facilitate collaboration and messaging, deliver notifications, moderate reports, prevent fraud and misuse, provide support, diagnose errors, maintain security, and comply with applicable law. We do not presently offer investment transactions through Backr.
5. Service providers and sharing
Backr uses Supabase for authentication, database services, and file storage, and Cloudflare for site hosting and network delivery. These providers process information to operate the service. Content you deliberately publish is shared publicly; private communications are not intended to appear in the public feed. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users and the service. Confirm and list any analytics, email, CAPTCHA, monitoring, and other providers before final publication.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Backr may use authentication session storage, essential browser storage, and infrastructure-level security mechanisms. Audit cookies and third-party tracking technologies before final publication; do not claim no tracking without verifying.
7. Retention and deletion
Users can request account deletion through account settings. Deletion is intended to remove associated account records, but backups, security logs, and uploaded storage objects may need additional handling. Confirm the actual deletion workflow, data-retention periods, backup practices, and photo cleanup before final publication.
8. Security
Backr uses access restrictions intended to separate public and private content, but no online service can guarantee perfect security. Please report suspected unauthorized access to the contact address listed below after it is established.
9. Your choices and rights
You may edit parts of your profile, manage certain content and blocks, and request deletion of your account. Additional privacy rights may apply depending on your location. Requests can be sent to [SUPPORT EMAIL — REQUIRED].
10. Children
Backr is intended for users aged 18 and older unless and until a different age policy and any related safeguards are implemented. Age eligibility currently must be confirmed against actual signup enforcement. We do not intentionally solicit accounts from children under 13.
